According to a press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the sole suspect in the mass shooting is 64-year-old Stephen Craig Paddock.

They reported that Paddock opened fire on a crowd of more than 22,000 concert attendees from his hotel room on the 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay on Sunday night, October 1, at approximately 10:08 p.m.
